Why does the SafeCom installer complain about pending restart ? (Troubleshooting)

SafeCom server 530*00 installer checks for pending restart before installing. In some cases it finds pending restarts but a restart doesn't help - it still fails the check the next time.

When installing SafeCom server 530*00 the installer checks for pending restarts. In some cases the installer finds a pending restart that shouldn't impact installing SafeCom.

If you still get this message after rebooting the system: "Kofax -SafeCom G4 server has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot. Please reboot the system and rerun the installation." Then try the following:

1. In the registry, navigate to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\

2. Delete the PendingFileRenameOperations registry value from the right pane.

3. Install the software without restarting the computer first (Restarting the computer may result in the registry key being placed back in the registry before installation.)

Note: If the PendingFileRenameOperations registry value in the location above is not located, this error message can be generated if the PendingFileRenameOperations registry value exists in the following location(s):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSetXXX\Control\SessionManager\
