What's the secure printing options in Printix? (FAQs)

With Printix you have direct print which you can chose to use "Print Later" functionality for, in order to be physically present at the printer at the time of print. There is also Printix Anywhere which allows for release of documents at any printer.

Printing directly to the printer is just as secure as compared to traditional network printing. By adding the option to "Print Later", the document is stored securely and await the user to release it at the printer. This is a one-to-one secure print function.

Printix Anywhere / Print Anywhere is Printix "Follow-me" solution. When a Printix Anywhere print queue is used, the document is stored securely until the user releases the document at the printer of choice.

The release mechanisms in Printix is as follows:

  • Mobile App / Web-browser - The user signs in using his credentials, chooses the documents and manually selects the printer.
  • QR-Code - The user scans a Printix generated QR-code that's been placed near / on the printer. The mobile app opens up (user signs in) and the user selects the documents and press "print" within the app. The printer is already selected.
The QR-code is available from the administration web-portal and needs to be printed by an administrator and placed near / on the printer.
  • NFC-tag - The user swipes his NFC-enabled smart phone over a NFC-tag that's been placed near / on the printer. The mobile app opens up (user signs in) and the user selects the documents and press "print" within the app. The printer is already selected.
The NFC-tag needs to be registered to a printer by an administrator.

Printix Go is an embedded application within the display of the multifunction device. The user can use Card(+PIN Code) and ID-Code+PIN Code to log in and collect his documents.
