No print queues found after setting up PaperCut on a Microsoft cluster
I’ve installed PaperCut on a Microsoft cluster as per the user manual, but none of the printers show up in PaperCut. What’s wrong?
The most common cause of this problem is the PaperCut Print Provider (the service installed as part of a secondary print server) using the node/local name instead of the resource/network name. This results in no print queues being found, as the print queues are associated with the resource/network name.
In the user manual setup notes (Clustering and High Availability -> Microsoft Failover Cluster Manager (MSFCM) -> Mode 1 - Clustering at the Print Provider layer -> Step 4 - Adding the Print Provider service as a resource under the print spooler’s cluster group -> 6.), there is a screenshot of the checkbox that must be enabled to allow PaperCut to find the print queues.
After enabling this checkbox and restarting the service the print queues should now be found.
