# My print jobs gets stuck in shared Windows Printer Queue with status "Sent to printer" (Troubleshooting)

## Print job stuck in shared Windows Printer Queue with status "Sent to printer"

#### Problem statement:

Print job stuck in shared Windows Printer Queue with status "Sent to printer"

This issue happens on Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2.

### Cause:

This issue is seen if the setting "Render Print job on client computer" is unchecked on the "Shared" tab for the Printer Queue. ![](https://files.mtstatic.com/site_12304/5784/0?Expires=1614951927&Signature=DahUYWtRFGjBlIEzXTDs4UMXlrmoESlcm3R4NCawX02C4IVwEWb~ZIi1eK8rtPLVqv8XAjC554ud37uMDi1uAGlVTu5BO8eW~jWFd20a3gRngs~QclHfSG7t6yKnORjk3WCY9uYFs1zfX0-hl5ZNwGLm9TZoeLufXzxO~UGnL40_&Key-Pair-Id=APKAJ5Y6AV4GI7A555NA)

Before Mircosoft KB "3139649" an "Access Denied" message would be seen when trying to connect with the shared Windows Printer Queue.

### Resolution:

On the "Security" tab for the Printer Queue the users/groups using the shared Printer Queue require "Manage documents" to be allowed additonal to "Print".
